PlayV/CentreSoft deal
Publisher secures UK distribution, starting with Mind Your Language.
PlayV, the UK-based venture co-funded by V2.Play and Playlogic, has announced it has signed an exclusive distribution deal with CentreSoft . The deal sees the Birmingham-based distributor taking on all products in PlayV’s catalogue with immediate effect, consolidating PlayV’s position for 2009 and opening up several new avenues to retail for the young operation.
Aside provision to specialist high-street retailers and online retail, the Centresoft deal also sees PlayV open up channels to non-traditional outlets and, crucially, independent game shops throughout the nation. The first product to take advantage of the new alliance will be Mind Your Language, PlayV’s DS-based suite of language-learning titles that move beyond parrot-fashion language tuition, introducing a host of action adventure and minigame elements to provide a wholly interactive and holistic method for learning a new language, whatever the age group.
Luiz Ferreira, PlayV’s sales manager comments: “This deal with CentreSoft is one of the most important distribution agreements we have struck since setting up the UK operation. Now, more than ever, operations such as ours need a rock-solid distribution network that reaches a wide range of retail stores, especially as we broaden our lifestyle range and look to sell-in to non-traditional outlets and, crucially, up our support in the independent sector. Only CentreSoft can assure us of this kind of penetration in the UK market.”
Margaret Pearson, CentreSoft, comments: “We are pleased to be representing PlayV at retail for their entire range of products. PlayV has a great line-up with appeal across all the outlets we service and we are delighted that this ambitious publisher has recognised the value and stability that CentreSoft can bring to its business in the UK.”
