PlayStation E3 press conference confirmed for June 4

Sony will hold its media briefing on Monday of E3 week

Sony is the first of the three console makers to announce its E3 press conference. The company noted today that the PlayStation media briefing will take place on Monday, June 4 at 6PM Pacific Standard Time.

Sony will once again use the Memorial Sports Arena as its venue (the same place that was used last year). While last year Sony unfortunately had to focus on apologizing for the major PSN security breach, this year it's expected that the company will focus on the evolving offerings on PSN (a key for Sony's growth overall) as well as one of its top strengths: software. We can expect a big focus on new Vita games for the second generation of titles on the portable, as well as hotly anticipated PS3 exclusives like Naughty Dog's The Last of Us.

While rumors continue to circulate surrounding the next PlayStation or "Orbis" it's highly unlikely that Sony will discuss the next-gen whatsoever.

As for Microsoft and Nintendo at E3, official press conference times have yet to be announced, but if it's similar to previous years, Microsoft's will precede Sony's on Monday afternoon and Nintendo's will be bright and early on Tuesday morning.

GamesIndustry International will be at the show all week long to bring you all the latest.
