PlayReplay opens US office
Digital marketing agency expands to service growing North American business
UK-based digital marketing agency, PlayReplay, has announced the opening of a new office in the US to accommodate the company's expanding business in the region.
Based in Santa Monica, the company hopes the presence in what is the biggest videogames market in the world will enable it to work with large publishers and smaller developers there alike.
"The challenge of marketing for digital platforms is very different from that of a retail launch," said Oliver Birch, UK account director at PlayReplay. "Budgets are significantly less and much of the influence to purchase is by word of mouth.
"Developers rarely have marketing experience or internal resources and publishers are busy marketing their retail releases, which is where their biggest revenues remain. Our business in North America is growing so we are delighted to have feet on the ground in the US to service our clients."
To-date, PlayReplay has worked with a host of companies on PR and marketing for online-only releases, including Hothead Games, Relentless Software, doublesix Games, Housemarque and Beatnik Games.
