Player X signs new partnership with Codemasters
Exclusive global mobile game distribution deal announced
Mobile game publisher and distributor Player X has announced the signing of an exclusive global distribution deal for mobile phone titles Codemasters TOCA Race Driver 3 and Sensible Soccer Skillz.
Codemasters Mobile, the recently formed wireless subsidiary of legendary videogames publisher, will publish Sensible Soccer Skillz and TOCA Race Driver 3 (in both 2D and 3D versions) during the second quarter of 2006. The fledgling firm is aiming to leverage Player X's substantial global distribution network to reach territories where it does not yet have direct operator contracts. Accordingly, Player X will distribute the titles to more than 70 operators in Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Player X CEO Tony Pearce stated: "This is a great deal for both parties. Codemasters' titles are some of the most sought-after in the mobile industry and we're honoured to be taking these titles to all parts of the planet. We're privileged to be involved and hope this marks the beginning of a long relationship between the two companies."
"These titles make use of two of Codemasters' key brands and Player X is perfectly placed to expand our reach thanks to its extensive distribution network," added Matt Davies, Codemasters Mobile director. "Our partnership with Player X is another solid foundation for Codemasters to build its presence in the mobile gaming space. Further titles planned though this and next year will enable us to establish more direct distribution relationships."
Established in 2004, Player X is a publisher and distributor of mobile games and content with a massive distribution network of global operators, retailers, online portals, and handset manufacturers. The company recently launched a series of mobile games based on cult television shows from Fremantle Media, such as The Price is Right and Family Fortunes, and was the exclusive publisher of the official mobile game based for Oscar-nominated animated movie, Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit.
