Player X continues expansion with Soho move and Hanage hire
Mobile media company Player X has continued its expansion by moving its London Head Office to a 50-person facility in the heart of Soho as well as hiring Chris Hanage as European Sales Director.
Chris Hanage joins Player X from Infospace where was Head of Mobile Games Sales, EMEA. Chris will be responsible for overseeing all of the company's sales functions in Europe and managing directly offices in Hamburg, Lyon and Madrid.
Previously to discovering the joys of mobile games, Chris was a veteran of the magazine publishing world where he worked for VNU, Future Publishing and a number of publishing start-ups. He has an MBA from London Business School where he is a regular speaker on their marketing and entrepenurial courses for MBA students.
The company's new premises in Soho's Frith Street are the headquarters of the company's global activities and follows the recent opening of Player X's Indian facility in Pune.
"We had two great years in Covent Garden but we had outgrown our offices and needed to make the next step. What's more, we've brought in Chris from Infospace and we're delighted he's joined us.... I just hope he likes the new offices!", said Tony Pearce, Player X CEO.
The news follows a great 2007 for Player X. Earlier this year was selected as one of the finalists for the 2007 Red Herring 100 Europe Awards, which recognises the top 100 private ventures in Europe. The company is up for Best Video & TV Service Provider at next month's prestigious ME Awards and in June, its made-for-mobile geekTV channel was nominated for Best Content Award at the 2007 Meffys.
