PlayClaw
Screen-grabbing tool reaches version 1.5.
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
June 10, 2009 - Sytexis Software today announces the newest version of its screen-grabbing tool for games, PlayClaw 1.5. The software dramatically reduces the impact on PC performance as the user captures screen shots and video from games by making full use of multi-core CPUs. With PlayClaw, users have more control over the grabbing process and can capture game scenes in much better quality than other tools.
The software's new features enable PlayClaw to record direct audio in Windows Vista in the multichannel mode (4, 5.1, 7.1), while capturing a video from a game. Since version 1.2, the performance of video codecs has been improved considerably, as well as the voice overlays, which now have new features - Show Log In / Log Off. New PlayClaw runs more flawlessly now that a few bugs regarding the compatibility with some applications have been fixed.
A screen-capture tool like PlayClaw is essential for the arsenal of any true gamer who may want to capture screen shots and video to show friends personal tactical excellence and winning top scores in games like Battlefield or Call of Duty. Game authors themselves often need a screenshot and video capture tool to make pictures and videoclips of the game scenes for publishing on the websites. Finally, PlayClaw can be used by game beta testers to record the game as it would help them to remember exactly where the game needs improvements.
PlayClaw is perfect to make screen shots, record real time video and benchmark any DirectX and OpenGL game.
- Game screenshot capture. While playing the game, the player can use PlayClaw to take screen shots of the most spectacular gaming moments and get the captured images named, timestamped and saved to the PlayClaw folder automatically. Screen captures can be saved in one of these formats: BMP, TGA, JPEG, and PNG.
- Game video recorder. PlayClaw can also be used to record real time video. The player can choose a folder to save the output, set up video capture keys to start, stop, pause and cancel recording, choose a compression level, frame size and frame-rate to record at. One can also specify the number of cores to use and choose sound input.
- Performance measurement. To benchmark a game, PlayClaw offers the FPS counter and lets the user decide where to display it. The FPS will help to adjust graphic system performance while a game is running.
- Teamspeak & Ventrilo overlays. The other nifty feature is PlayClaw's ability to work with Teamspeak and Ventrilo. While playing the game, the gamer can see on-screen overlays with the nicknames of other players, who are talking at the moment. This feature is a real helper when it comes to playing in a team.
PlayClaw runs on Windows 2000, XP, 2003, Vista, 7 and their x64 editions. The free 30-day demo version places an unremovable PlayClaw watermark on the captured output and limits each video record to 30 seconds in length.
PlayClaw is a very useful tool for almost every game player who has a desire to record a game. Now players can preserve their virtual life and victories in the same way as they would do it with a camera in the physical world.
