Imagine claims top independent PlayStation mag slot in ABCs.
Official ABC figures posted recently show that Imagine Publishing’s Play magazine has retained its position as the UK’s bestselling PlayStation reviews magazine.
In the face of strong competition and new challenges, Play’s sales have remained strong, with the PlayStation publication registering an official average ABC figure of 24,062 copies. While numbers were down across the entire PlayStation portfolio Play was the least affected with its competition suffering far greater drops.
Commenting on Play’s ABC figure, Editor In Chief, Aaron Asadi said, “We’re delighted with Play’s performance, not just because it’s just reward for the team’s fine efforts but also because it gives a great platform to continue to build on the success. We’re confident that this position will mean even bigger and better exclusives for our readers as we look to push the Play brand even further.”
Now in its 14th year, Play covers every current PlayStation format and is packed with cutting-edge features, exclusive reviews and honest opinion. It’s also set to extend its reach via a new iPhone App so that its readers have access to the magazine whenever and wherever they are.
On future development of the magazine new Editor, Keith Hennessey
said: “The ABC figures go to show that print publications still have a very important role in the lives of gamers. Though the figures are positive we can’t be complacent – with a mix of exclusive content, innovative design and brand new features I’m looking to ensure Play’s success for a further 14 years and beyond.”
Issue 189 of Play is on sale on 18 February and features the exclusive review of the eagerly anticipated Aliens Vs Predator. The special AVP package comes in a foil bag that contains both a free book and DVD.
