Pizza Club secures $1.5m investment from My.Games
My.Games Venture Capital will help fuel the US studio's expansion and help scale its debut release, Raid Boss
My.Games Venture Capital, the investment arm of development and publishing house My.Games, is partnering with US studio Pizza Club Games, the company announced today.
MGVC will put $1.5 million into the studio to support scaling the business, from marketing to game design and recruitment.
Pizza Club Games was founded in 2020 by Daniel Hunnicutt, Lisa Hicks, Todd Gunther, and Benjamin Gross, whose collective resume includes work at companies like Sega, Electronic Arts, and Playdom.
The studio's first game, Raid Boss, is currently in Early Access on Android. In a press release, the studio says it plans to launch an iOS version of the game in the near future.
My.Games, the games division of Russian internet company Mail.ru, has picked up a number of investments in studios over the past year, including a controlling stake in Grand Hotel Mania developer Deus Craft and a minority stake in developer and publisher Mamboo Games.
The company also launched a beta for its cloud gaming service last November in Russia.
