Wokingham, Berks., 3 November 2008 -- ‘Game Developer’ magazine recently released its annual Top 20 Publishers report. Eighteen of the 20 companies selected use Perforce ( www.perforce.com) to manage their game assets.
Games projects often consist of millions of lines of code, hundreds of design documents, and tens of thousands of individual art assets.
Perforce ensures that all these assets can be reproduced and traced by keeping track of each file's complete change history.

Perforce is also popular with games companies because it offers a central repository for all digital assets, easily handles multiple software releases with its sophisticated branching and merging capabilities, and manages concurrent development for geographically distributed teams.
