Penny Arcade Announces Complete PAX 2007 Schedule
Seattle, Wash. - Aug 10, 2007 Penny Arcade, creators of the popular online comic strip of the same name, today revealed the complete schedule for this year's Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), the game-culture celebration to be held Aug. 24-26 at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center in Seattle.
"Between tournaments, panels, movies, concerts and the sold-out exhibition hall, content-wise, we're completely packed," said Robert Khoo of Penny Arcade. "And with more than 22,000 pre-registered, the same goes for the convention center."
One of the many discussion panels taking place during PAX will be "Between a Rock and a Hard Place: The Love Hate Relationship between Devs and Pubs." Gaming industry legend Seamus Blackley, currently of CAA, will be joined by Lindsay Gupton of Amaze Entertainment (Crash of the Titans) and John Williamson of Zombie Studios (America's Army) for this exploration of industry dynamics.
Another highlight will be the Rooster Teeth Productions Panel. Red vs. Blue, the popular Halo- based machinima series, launched the Rooster Teeth team into gaming prominence, and today the Rooster Teeth Web site boasts not only Red vs. Blue episodes, but a regular Web comic and a thriving forums community as well.
As previously announced, writer, actor and geek icon Wil Wheaton will deliver the PAX 2007 keynote address. Best known for his role as Wesley Crusher on Star Trek: The Next Generation, Wheaton has gone on to appear in a number of films and become a prolific writer. He has authored two books, Dancing Barefoot and Just a Geek, maintains a popular blog at www.wilwheaton.net, and is a frequent contributor to a number of game, media and tech Web sites.
