Reaching a million "unique" (it's the new "special") users a month.
12/10/10 – Future, the special-interest media group, today reveals that its recently launched PCGamer.com website ( http://www.pcgamer.com) now reaches over one million unique users a month.
Sealing PC Gamer’s reputation as the global PC gaming authority in print and online, figures from comScore-owned Sitestat reported that 1,088,187 unique users visited PCGamer.com in September 2010. The site attracted 92,000 gamers from the UK in the same month.
As the world’s biggest name in PC games media since 1993, the PCGamer.com website unites editorial teams from the US and UK to deliver the most trusted, most informed and most up-to-date source for all things PC gaming. The site is overseen by the highly respected Editor of PC Gamer UK, Tim Edwards and Editor-in-Chief of PC Gamer US, Logan Decker.
October began in strong fashion as PCGamer.com broke the world exclusive news that Valve was to sell in-game items for Team Fortress 2. The site promises further exclusive news in coming weeks.
“The community wanted PC Gamer online, and the editorial teams in the UK and USA delivered. Beating one million unique users in a month, so soon after launch, is an important milestone and we’re getting great support from advertisers including Square Enix, Alienware, Funcom, NCSoft, Ubisoft and Gala Networks.”
Tim Edwards, Editor of PC Gamer UK, added:
“PC Gamer has always been the most trusted, most informed source for all things PC gaming, and now we’re in a great position to do this online, breaking the biggest news for PC gamers. Reaching one million PC gamers within four months of launch is a great reminder of the passion for the world’s most important gaming platform. And this is just the start.”
