Pay Up For Payback
GP32/2x Distribution Ltd, the company responsible for the GP2X Linux handheld gaming console today announced its first commercially developed game, the bloody 3D crime caper Payback. This top down classic, originally on Mac and Nintendo systems has been updated specially for the GP2X, with new 3D graphics, sound and special effects.
Set over 11 Cities with 50 missions, Payback includes a full voice track and totally new 3D models. Whether you choose to set fire to the chief of police, rob the city's biggest bank or drive a tank over a parking attendant, the choice is yours. The new Payback is all about choice, just like the GP2X itself, it is open play gaming for an open source console.
"This game is a must have for every GP2X owner. Payback isn't just another GTA wannabe; the player must use his imagination to navigate the shifting tides of allegiance and the fully open environments to achieve a variety of goals," explained Craig Rothwell, Managing Director, GP32/2x Distribution Limited.
Not only do the vehicles boast 50 times more polygons than previous versions, but it also includes a jukebox mode allowing players to dictate their own soundtrack. The game is available now at http://gp2x.co.uk/payback.html on a 512MB SD card for £22.99. Images available on request.
