Oxygen Games Launch Event for PDC World Championship Darts and Other Key Titles

The star studded event included celebrity guests Phil 'The Power' Taylor and Colin 'Jaws' Lloyd, as well as the Voices of Darts, Sid Waddell and Russ Bray. Taylor and Lloyd were true to form and allowed the press a glimpse of their approachable and friendly, although competitive natures. They respectfully kicked the proverbial back-sides of all of the attending press and retail guests (whom Oxygen are certain took the beatings well), fulfilled some childhood ambitions, and by all accounts, celebs, press and retail had a thoroughly good time to boot.

Russ Bray was kind enough to be the night's MC and scorer, and he dazzled the crowds with his dulcet tones and charming turn of phrase! Sid Waddell was on hand during matches with his legendary commentary style, which brought a smile to the face of even the most focused players.

With a Press challenge running throughout the course of the evening to take on the pros at both their game and Oxygen's, the publisher feels that the evening gave all involved a wonderful insight into the world of darts, and managed to truly capture the essence of the addictive, energy-fuelled Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

"It's a great game and I can't wait until it's released," said Taylor, the 13-time World Champion. "I had a good play and really got into it.

"It's very realistic and fun to play. I've won many titles during my career, and with this game hopefully I can win many more before I retire!"

Running alongside PDC World Championship Darts, the publisher was also showcasing a number of its other current releases. The critically acclaimed, ProStroke Golf was premièred for the PSP® (Playstation®Portable) system, having been recently praised by Official PSP Magazine:

"As a golf sim, it's fantastic, and when it comes to the technical aspects, it leaves Tiger slamming wedges of turf from the rough."

In addition, Oxygen exhibited its two dance mat titles, which are out for Christmas. Street Dance and Dance Fest both offer up a choice of musical tastes that will appeal to any dance mat fans. Featuring two beautiful and appropriately dressed dancers - one urban diva and one pop princess - the games went down a storm, especially as the drinks flowed and both press and retail alike found their dancing shoes (claim supported by photographic evidence)!
