Outspark appoints new CEO
MMO publisher now headed up by Philip Yun
Outspark has announced that Philip Yun, will take the on the role of CEO. Yun joined Outspark in January as COO.
"Taking on the role of CEO at Outspark is an opportunity for me to bring my experience in the games industry and match it with an organization that is on the right path," said Yun.
"My primary mission is to grow the company, its reach and the talented team we have to ensure Outspark reaches its full potential in the marketplace."
In an interview with GamesBeat, Yun reassured customers about the move.
"Nothing is changing for the company, which is still focused on the mid-core gaming business. This is a management change and we are still expanding to third party game makers and pursuing the free-to-play game business."
Previous to Outspark, Yun worked as SVP of business and head of global publishing at NHN and NHN USA. He was also marketing manager for Sony Computer Entertainment Korea.
Outspark is based in San Francisco, publishing MMOs like Lord Of Ages, Fiesta and 7 Dragons. Its site currently has around eight million registered users.
Last month it revealed its new platform for free to play MMOs, Flint.
