Open Days 2010
Registration now open for students who'd like to take a look around Blitz Games Studios.
October 30 2009, LEAMINGTON SPA UK Blitz Games Studios is pleased to announce that online registration for its 2010 student Open Days is now open.
Blitz Games Studios’ Open Days are now in their fifth successful year and for 2010 there will be three student days running on Friday 26 February, Friday 5 March and Friday 19 March, catering respectively to first and second year students studying any games-related discipline, animation students and final year students studying any games-related discipline.
As usual, the days will offer a broad introduction to the enormous range of skills and talents involved in creating games, as well as a studio tour and an opportunity to talk in depth with and get firsthand feedback from experienced development staff.
The Open Days are free to attend but all applicants must complete a work sample in order to be considered for a place. The closing date for work sample submission is Monday 11 January 2010.
“We’re extremely pleased to be announcing the Open Days for 2010,” says Education Liaison Manager Kim Blake. “Last year we had a record number of submissions and we hope that trend will continue. We’d also like to remind students that these days aren’t just aimed at those who are doing games-specific degrees – we positively welcome submissions from those studying maths, computer science, illustration, pure animation and so on, all subjects that teach skills that are needed in today’s thriving games industry.”
Student feedback from March 2009: “I just want to say thanks for yesterday, it was a pleasure meeting the staff and I had a wonderful experience, the event left me feeling very happy and inspired. I now have a much clearer idea of how to take the next step in my career.”
