Atari launch dedicated website with constant updates

LONDON, UK - 6 December 2004 - Atari today announced that they have launched their dedicated Act of War: Direct Action website. The website - www.atari.com/actofwar - will be under constant expansion and features easy to navigate, comprehensive information on all the main aspects of the game and will provide a perfect home for the fan community.

Act of War is a near-future, geopolitical techno-thriller for PC. Developed by Eugen Systems and with a storyline and game universe created in cooperation with Dale Brown, 15-time New York Times best-selling author and expert on US military, global conflict and future military technology, Act of War: Direct Action is to be released in Spring 2005.

"We are extremely pleased with our dedicated Act of War website as it communicates direct to the core RTS game-play fans whilst providing valuable information on a game that is quickly building high expectations across the mass-market as well", said Martin Spiess, Senior Vice President of Marketing, Atari Europe. "The website will reveal a number of options open to the player within the game, without giving away the key aspects of the amazing storyline".

AoW is the first game to use actual real life units in the surrounding environments of today and visitors to the website will be able to join the forum to debate what they expect to find in such a game. The site will also be updated regularly and over the coming weeks visitors will have access to downloadable screenshots, trailers and a playable demo as well as the opportunity to receive newsletters, a fan site kit and read the developer diary.

Act of War: Direct Action is due for release on PC across Europe in spring 2005.
