Neil Long becomes editor-in-chief of UK mag, Steve Hogarty is dep ed.

15/10/10 – Future, the special-interest media group, has today announced a series of editorial appointments across its Nintendo portfolio and the creation of a brand-new Editor-in-Chief role as it positions itself for the launch of a new console and a busy 2011.  

In recognition of his work in developing Official Nintendo Magazine and Future’s growing Nintendo portfolio, Neil Long is made Editor-in-Chief, and takes on additional responsibilities.   Neil joined Future in 2008 from leading games industry trade magazine, MCV.   

Working closely with Publisher, Lee Nutter – Neil will oversee Official Nintendo Magazine ,   NGamer and the company’s roster of special projects, including  the regular Girl Gamer collaboration with Panini UK and the recently launched Wii on-console Nintendo TV channel.  Neil will be involved in new product development for the portfolio with Future’s senior creative team.

Following the departure of Nick Ellis, Charlotte Martyn becomes Associate Editor of the company’s Bath-based independent Nintendo title, NGamer .  An industry veteran, Charlotte has worked for both Official Nintendo Magazine and NGamer since joining Future in 2005 from Highbury’s GamesTM.  

Steve Hogarty returns to Future to become Deputy Editor of Official Nintendo Magazine.  Hogarty spent five years working through the ranks of the recently-departed PC Zone , leaving his role as Acting Editor to become Editor-in-Chief of Nordic games site, GameReactor.

Lee Nutter, Publisher of Future’s Nintendo portfolio, said:
