Graphics chip manufacturer Nvidia, which will supply the graphical processing unit for the PlayStation 3, has signed a new contract to work on an as yet unnamed project for Sony.
Speaking to Reuters, Nvidia's chief financial officer Mary Burkett said: "We have a contract to do engineering work for them. I don't think I should discuss what that product is."
Burkett said that the the contract is worth "probably slightly more" than the PS3 GPU deal - which earned Nvidia more than USD 30 million. "We had anticipated that [contract revenue] would drop off, but that's not going to happen," she said.
