NVIDIA® NZONE® Web Site Helps More Consumers Make Educated Decisions On What Games To Buy
More Than 1.8 Million Uses of the 'System Requirements Lab' Translates to Customer Satisfaction
THEALE, ENGLAND -APRIL 24, 2006-Buying PC
games got a lot easier for consumers who have surfed to
www.nzone.co.uk, a NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA)-designed
Web portal for gamers, and used the site's "System
Requirements Lab", a special Web-based tool that allows them
to check the hardware configuration of their PC and see if
they have the necessary hardware to unleash a gaming
experience that is rich in visuals and strong on
performance.
On average, consumers are using the Systems Requirement Lab
to conduct approximately 15,000 tests per day to determine
their hardware compatibility against an extensive list of
software titles including such hardware-intensive games as
Tomb Raider:Legend and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. By being
able to check on their hardware status before they buy the
game, consumers can make educated purchasing decisions, which
helps to reduce the rate of software returns that plague both
online and brick and mortar retailers.
"Gamers have titles like The Lord of the Rings: The Battle
for Middle-Earth II, TimeShift, F.E.A.R., and Elder Scrolls
IV: Oblivion at the top of their wish lists," said Howard
Tong, Vice President of Newegg.com. "With so many games
demanding the latest in PC hardware, NVIDIA offering the
System Requirements Lab couldn't have been more timely. It is
designed with our customers in mind and ultimately allows us
to better serve them."
Powered by technology from Husdawg LLC, the System
Requirements Lab is an easy-to-use analysis tool that
instantly provides a detailed snapshot of a user's computer
system configuration and compares it against the minimum and
recommended system requirements for specific PC games. Users
with compatible hardware will be given a "green light," while
users with systems that may not be properly equipped to play
the latest PC games will receive advisory information on how
to upgrade their systems.
"The System Requirements Lab is a convenient and time-saving
tool for gamers who want to ensure a high quality PC
experience, said Bill Gardner, CEO of Eidos. "With all of our
PC title releases, including the highly-anticipated Tomb
Raider: Legend and Hitman: Blood Money, we expect an upsurge
of gamers keen to test their systems for game compatibility.
We believe that giving consumers the power to test hardware
compatibility before they buy helps reduce customer support
calls and dramatically decreases returns to retail. In short,
the Systems Requirement Lab enables users to have the best
game play experience possible and helps promote a healthier
PC market for everyone."
The incorporation of the System Requirements Lab further
extends the NVIDIA "The Way It's Meant to Be Played"
programme, which singles out games created on and played best
with NVIDIA hardware to make it easier for consumers to
achieve a stellar gaming experience. The System Requirements
Lab can be accessed via the NVIDIA nZone Web site at www.nzone.co.uk.
"Our relationship with NVIDIA reflects the growing commitment
companies have in providing consumers with the best PC
experience," said John Hussey, CEO Husdawg, LLC. "Consumers
at all levels find the System Requirements Lab is easy to
use-pick a product and click a button-and very accessible.
Since we don't collect any personally identifiable data,
consumers can use this product with confidence."
