Nvidia chips to provide Intel integration

Nvidia is expected to announce tomorrow that it is planning to release new integrated graphics solutions for use on motherboards powered by Intel processors.

To date, according to a report on Reuters, Nvidia's integrated graphics market share on such motherboards is less than one per cent, compared to 62 per cent on boards powered by AMD processors.

The report claims that Nvidia's announcement will predict its new GeForce chips to give a performance comparable to a separate entry-level graphics card, as more and more mainstream users are using graphically rich programs and games.

The new range of GeForce chips will be compatible with Pentium, Celeron and Core 2 processors, as well as Intel's forthcoming range of Penryn products due for release in November.
