NVIDIA boasts record annual revenues

Revenue for the final quarter rose 12 per cent to USD 633.6 million (EURO 530.5 million) from USD 566.5 million (EURO 474.4 million) in the same period last year. Operating income climbed from USD 57.2 million (EURO 47.9 million) to USD 112.3 million (EURO 94 million), showing an increase of 97 per cent on the previous year. Net income showed significant growth, rising from USD 48 million (EURO 40.1 million) and increasing 104 per cent to USD 98.1 million (EURO 82.1 million).
NVIDIA has increased its share in the desktop GPU sector - according to the Mercury Research Fourth Quarter 2005 PC Graphics Report - to 51 per cent, and details a number of highlights for the quarter, including the shipment of the nForce 4 SLI XE and nForce4 Ultra Intel MCPs (media and communications processors). The MCP revenue increased by 83 per cent year-on-year, and has enjoyed record revenue for six consecutive quarters.
The company's revenue for the fiscal year ended January 29, 2006 was posted at a record USD 2.38 billion (EURO 1.99 billion), compared to USD 2.01 billion (EURO 1.68 billion) a year prior. Net income for the year was USD 302.6 million (EURO 253.4 million), showing a year-on-year increase of 202 per cent.
NVIDIA president and CEO, Jen-Hsung Huang, commented: "Fiscal 2006 was a milestone year for NVIDIA. We led the GPU and core logic industry on every front � technology leadership, product innovation, and operational excellence. As a result, we delivered record annual results for revenue, operating income, operating margin, and operating cash flow."
"Looking ahead into fiscal 2007, multiple important trends will create substantial growth opportunities in our target markets - HD DVD and Blu-ray high definition video, Microsoft Windows Vista, the 3G ramp and increasing multimedia content for mobile devices, and next generation game consoles," Huang added.
