Nordic Game: Expanded and Improved for 2008
A deeper conference with focus on professional content and a special admission-free recruitment event for students; the organisers have listened to the needs of the games industry and are preparing intensively for Nordic Game 2008.
"Our conference in Malmö (Sweden) has been recognised regionally and internationally as an interesting, professional and well-organised event", says Tom Felices, Conference and Event Director at the Nordic Game Program. "We are now initiating key improvements for 2008, based largely on constructive critique we have received from the games industry."
Nordic Game 2008 will offer a deeper, more developer orientated experience next May, with fewer presentations and an emphasis on professional workshops and panel discussions. Furthermore, delegates will be inspired by keynote guests and unique content drawn from within and outside the games industry.
Tom Felices continues,"In consultation with HR professionals in the Nordic region and abroad, we are also planning major changes to our annual Nordic recruitment event." Nordic Game Career Expo 2008 will have a separate date, the day after the Nordic Game conference, and offer a special program aimed at newly graduated students and other academics looking for work in the industry. Admission will be free for qualified students and other academics.
The Nordic Game activities at the world's largest industry events such as GDC in San Francisco and GC in Leipzig will also be refined in consultation with the Nordic games industry and public and private partners in the region. Importantly, Nordic Game will continue to present the Nordic region as one of the world's most innovative and fastest growing hot spots for games development.
After working with the Nordic Game conference and Nordic Game events in the region and abroad for the past three years, the Nordic Game Program has appointed Tom Felices as
Conference and Event Director. As such he will be the responsible for the annual Nordic Game conference as well as the Career Expo recruitment event, and Nordic Game activities at
GDC San Francisco, GC Leipzig and other conferences and events around the globe.
