Nordic Game at Gamescom

Twenty-four Nordic game companies to swell the Business Area.

Nordic Game will be participating in Europe’s largest games event, Gamescom in Cologne, Germany on 19-23 August. The Nordic Game booth will be in place at the Gamescom Business Area (Hall 4.2), showcasing a record-breaking 24 Nordic game companies and organisations, and once again exemplifying the diversity of the ever-growing Nordic games industry.

Some of the highlights at the Nordic Game booth:

Amazing Games

Amazing Games AS, a game developer since 1996, is proud to present Railroad Revolution to the public for the very first time at Gamescom 2009. Railroad Revolution is a casual take on the often very hardcore and serious train simulation/empire building genre. Railroad Revolution is designed with casual players in mind. Boomtown

Donya Labs

Donya Labs will attend Gamescom for business meetings and networking. Donya recently released v.2.7 of Simplygon, the state-of-the-art solution for automatic optimization of 3D assets, valuable in game development as well as film production and industrial visualization. Simplygon can automatically create game-ready assets or LODs from original models and simplify assets for less powerful platforms.

Fatshark

Being a young and reasonably unknown company, Fatsharks presence at Gamescom is mainly about presenting the company and the products for business and media. Fatshark would like to take the chance to introduce game projects that stretches from small puzzle games for the download community to big AAA-titles for all major platforms. Focus will be on two projects, the 3D action puzzler Sir Hamiltoon´s Great Adventure and 3rd person team-based online shooter Lead & Gold - Gangs of the West.

Gogogic

Gogogic is participating in Gamescom to create awareness about its upcoming Browser Based MMOG, Vikings of Thule, which will be closely integrated with Facebook. This is an RPG/strategy game that allows players to take on the roles of the Vikings that settled in Iceland some 1000 years ago. Gogogic also intends to introduce its next iPhone title during th e show, called Soft Freak Fiesta.

Hansoft

Hansoft will demonstrate the Hansoft 5.3 project management solution, including the Asset Pipeline Editor that, in a short time, has become a popular tool for making asset creation more lean. Hansoft will also show the latest version of its SDK, for an easier integration of Hansoft with business intelligence, as well as the new iteration of its ready-made integration with Perforce.

Pixolane

Pixolane is a Finnish game developer currently working on an action packed soon-to-be-announced PSN title.

TeliaSonera International Carrier

TeliaSonera International Carrier offers the international online gaming community a variety of high-quality infrastructure services. Tonic Games

Tonic Games is a Danish game studio that focuses on game based learning. At Gamescom the company will present a demo of the game Musica, a unique adventure game controlled solely by a music keyboard, whereby the player will actually learn how to play the piano for real, whilst solving different musical riddles.

Unity 3D

Unity provides console quality game experiences inside the browser, as well as top of the line tools to build multiplatform content for Web, PC, Mac, Nintendo Wii, and the iPhone.

Zordix

Zordix AB is a Swedish game developer and a member of Umeå Creative Industries Association, offering completed games and development services. Zordix will be participating at Gamescom 2009 together with Codemill and Morningdew media, presenting games for Nintendo DSi, iPhone/iPod Touch, Mac and PSP Go, as well as outsourcing services.

The companies described above will be joined by the following companies and organisations: Artplant, Coldwood, Gotland University, Housemarque, Neogames, Nordic Soft Sales, PAN Vision, Producentforeningen, Redlynx, The Bearded Ladies Consulting, The Game Incubator, Tumbleweed and Virtual Air Guitar.
