New York store to get a makeover.

The  Nintendo® World store in New York will close its doors for a few weeks to undergo renovations. The two-story, 10,000-square-foot Rockefeller Plaza store will shut down at 8 p.m. on Oct. 13 and reopen at 9 a.m. on Nov. 1. Then on Nov. 7, the store will host a daylong grand re-opening celebration event for consumers.

Some features of the remodel will include:

Expansion of the Nintendo Showcase to twice its original size. The showcase will feature Nintendo products and artifacts in a visually impressive way.

 

New floors and new lighting.

 

New interactive stations for Nintendo DSi™ and Nintendo DSi XL™.

 

New graphics throughout the store.

Nintendo World opened its doors in May 2005. Since then it has hosted numerous events to launch video games and systems of all kind. Nearly 4 million people have passed through its doors to sample new and upcoming games, shop for fun Nintendo items or just share their love of Nintendo with other fans. Nintendo World has become a must-see tourist destination for video game fans of all ages from around the world.
