Nintendo unveils MotionPlus Zelda
Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword demonstrated at E3 briefing by Shigeru Miyamoto
Iconic game designer Shigeru Miyamoto has unveiled a new title in the Zelda franchise at this year's E3 Expo in LA.
Titled Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, the Wii title will make full use of the MotionPlus control system in a fully 3D world.
"I think this game will be remembered as a key turning point in Zelda's history," said Miyamoto, who demoed the game's main weapons - sword-and-shield, whip and bombs - as well as a flight mode using a beetle.
"The new control system is very streamlined," he added. "It feels great," revealing that the game will be released at some point in 2011.
Other software titles announced in the stage show were Kirby's Epic Yarn (late 2010), GoldenEye (November 2010), Donkey Kong: Country Returns (late 2010) and Just Dance 2, while Warren Spector's Epic Mickey game was also given an extended demo.
