Nintendo donates 9,500 face masks to US emergency services
Highly sought-after face masks will be distributed across the City of North Bend and surrounding area
Nintendo of America has donated over 9,500 respirator face masks to emergency services in North Bend, Washington.
The N95 Particulate Respirator masks are among the most requested items for first responders and health care providers amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
Nintendo representative Jerry Danson said the masks were originally purchased for "emergency preparedness planning" but knew they were needed elsewhere in the current climate.
Eastside Fire and Rescue staff will distribute the masks throughout the region, including the City of North Bend which is home to Nintendo's North American production facility.
A statement from the City of North Bend reads: "This crisis is unprecedented. The safety and security of community members is paramount in our daily mission. The communities served by City of North Bend and Eastside Fire and Rescue deeply appreciate the generous donation from Nintendo."
