Nightclub City DJ Rivals

Scratching battle game available for iPhone now.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

San Francisco, CA – March 10, 2011 – Booyah, a leading social web and mobile entertainment company, has officially launched Nightclub City DJ Rivals, the first rhythm-based role-playing game for iPhone and iPod touch.  Nightclub City DJ Rivals lets players battle to the beat by tapping and scratching to music tracks in a quest to defeat real-world challengers and unlock new items and abilities to be the best DJ in the world.

“For the first time on mobile devices, we’re offering a unique experience that combines a skill-based rhythm game and a story-driven adventure for endless replayability,” said Keith Lee, CEO, Booyah. “It’s also a great GPS multiplayer game that challenges players to own their favorite real world spots.”

In Nightclub City DJ Rivals, players take on the role of an up-and-coming indie DJ battling against the faceless conglomerate BlandCorp and Big Hits Records, who are trying to take over the city and make music boring and safe. Players battle to become bigger names in their real-world hometown and eventually take on the crafty drones of Big Hits in a series of challenging “boss” battles.

Using location-based GPS technology, Nightclub City DJ Rivals includes an expansive multiplayer mode where players can battle with friends and foes at real world locations to earn “King of the Hill” bragging rights and rewards. Become the resident DJ at your favorite local hotspots like restaurants, retail stores, theaters and nightclubs to earn cash from other Nightclub City DJ Rivals players.

Nightclub City DJ Rivals is a unique extension of Booyah’s wildly popular Facebook game, Nightclub City, which has proven to be a viable music discovery medium and marketing platform for music artists.  Since opening its doors in April 2010, more than 20 million active players have joined Nightclub City and experienced an immersive game that blends real-world music from a variety of independent and established artists.  Players will be able unlock special items for Nightclub City by playing Nightclub City DJ Rivals and vice versa.

Booyah’s Nightclub City DJ Rivals is now available exclusively on the App Store for iPhone and iPod Touch at  www.iTunes.com/AppStore/. To watch the trailer, visit www.youtube.com/watch?v=ITOMJb0p5oU.
