NHN chooses PlaySpan as content payment provider
Upcoming Karos Online to use PlaySpan UltimatePay for in-game transactions
Korean internet company NHN Corporation is to partner with US firm PlaySpan - a provider of monetisation solutions for online games - for its upcoming free-to-play title Karos Online.
PlaySpan's UltimatePay solution will enable players to purchase and experience premium content for use in the game, which is currently available in Korea and is due for release in Europe and North America later this year.
"UltimatePay will enable gamers everywhere to join the adventure," said Dong-min Lee, NHN's director of international business. "We want to ensure that everyone has the ability to experience the fantastic premium content offered in Karos Online, and UltimatePay provides that capability."
"NHN's selection of UltimatePay further demonstrates PlaySpan's global leadership in monetisation solutions for the world's best game developers and publishers," added Karl Mehta, founder and CEO of PlaySpan.
"We're pleased to add NHN to our growing list of international clients and are confident that UltimatePay will help grow the paying player base of Karos Online."
UltimatePay is a combination of PayByCash, which offers a payment and fraud management system, and Spare Change, which adds a social network micro-payment solution. It currently provides over 85 global payment methods including mobile, cash and the Ultimate Game Card.
Among the features the platform offers publishers are offer management, web services API and a PlaySpan MarketPlace distribution option.
