Three games for iPhone: Rolando, MazeFinger and Charming Topple.
SAN FRANCISCO – Oct. 16, 2008 – Game creator and publisher ngmoco ( http://www.ngmoco.com) has unveiled its first three titles, created exclusively for the iPhone™ and iPod® touch and set to entertain the masses this fall.
Rolando, the first of ngmoco’s flagship premium games is a rich platform adventure that combines great gameplay and the native capability of the iPhone and iPod touch to deliver a breakthrough experience. ngmoco has also revealed the first games in its line of “Fast Apps,” the company’s top-quality micro-priced games created specifically for the device. Special effects-laden, touch-screen, arcade game MazeFinger and the colorful touch-and-tilt block stacking game Topple will hit the App Store later this month.
“Rolando, MazeFinger and Topple are the first three of more than a dozen Fast and Premium Apps that we have under development and scheduled for release in the coming months,” Neil Young, founder and CEO, ngmoco, said. “We are very excited to begin revealing all our Apps and start showcasing what gaming on the iPhone and iPod touch can be.”
Focused on building the best new game experiences for the iPhone and iPod touch, ngmoco is partnered with some of the top developers for the platform including Simon Oliver’s HandCircus™, the Super Monkey Ball developer Other Ocean Interactive and Façade co-creator Andrew Stern’s new studio Stumptown Gamemachine, LLC.
“We’re committed to ensuring that the iPhone and iPod touch become the best handheld gaming systems in the market,” Young added. “We’re going to get there by building great, native games both ourselves and in partnership with some of the best new and experienced game makers in the world.”
Rolando ( http://rolando.ngmoco.com), exclusively created for iPhone and iPod touch by Simon Oliver’s micro-studio Hand Circus, is set in an adorable world which has been taken over by forces of darkness. Players will solve puzzles and navigate dangers to bring Rolandos to safety using innovative tilt, tap and Multi-Touch™ controls. 36-levels deep, Rolando features four vibrant and stylized worlds drawn by pop-culture illustrator Mikko Walamies. Due for release later this fall, Rolando will set a new bar for iPhone and iPod touch gaming.
MazeFinger ( http://Mazefinger.ngmoco.com) delivers classic arcade action, with the power of touch. The game challenges players to touch their way through increasingly complex mazes battling a relentless clock to cheat death. Explosive special effects light up the screen as players try to keep up, collecting energy, unlocking achievements and avoiding traps through 200 levels with 1000 unique mazes. MazeFinger addiction will spread as friends can challenge each other to top their scores and better their achievements. MazeFinger will hit the App Store this weekend at 99 cents.
Topple ( http://topple.ngmoco.com) turns the rules of puzzle-action games upside down with a beautiful, engaging and endlessly replayable tower building game. Players build wobbly and delicate towers to dizzying heights, while the expressive, hilarious and occasionally mischievous shapes are dragged and rotated with multi-touch controls as you battle gravity by tilting the tower. Unlock all the levels and game modes, challenge others via email and discover the 20 achievements as you ask: “how high can you go?”
