Nexon revenues up in 26% in Q2
Free-to-play market continues to deliver for Korean firm
Free-to-play games company Nexon America has reported a 26 per cent increase in revenues for the second quarter, with June revenues alone up 36 per cent compared to a year ago.
The Korean company is going from strength to strength in foreign markets – sales outside of its home market beat Korean revenues for the first time in the last financial year, and first quarter 2010 revenues were up 28 per cent.
"Our player base and revenues continue to expand, which tells us that gamers find that our free-to-play business model fits their play needs," offered Daniel Kim, CEO of Nexon America, reports GamesBeat.
Hit titles from the company include Maple Story, Dungeon & Fighter and Kart Rider.
