Nexon names new chief financial officer

Ex-EA and Outspark executive Owen Mahoney takes role

Free-to-play online publisher Nexon has named Owen Mahoney as its new chief financial officer, effective immediately.

Mahoney moves into the role from his most recent position as the chief executive officer of online publisher Outspark, before which he spent nine years as senior vice-president of corporate and business development at Electronic Arts.

"Nexon is clearly on the cutting edge of the online gaming business and is changing the way games are being played," said the Berkeley-educated Mahoney. "Players around the world are responding positively to the company’s business model, resulting in huge numbers of customers and expanding revenues. It’s an exciting place to be."

Mahoney has fifteen years of experience in the financial world and will be operating out of Nexon's Tokyo and Los Angeles offices.
