The organisers of the Nordic Game conference have announced that Joonmo Kwon, chief executive officer of Nexon, will speak at this year's event.

Based in South Korea, Nexon was established in 1994 and has since become one of the world's most successful online gaming companies.

Nexon's first title, The Kingdom of the Winds, is often described as the world's first graphic MMORPG. It was followed up with KartRider, which according to Nexon is played by more than 30 per cent of South Koreans - making it the most popular online game in the country.

Nexon also produced MapleStory, which has more than 40 million users registered for its free-to-play service. The game is available in North America, where 2 million users have registered.

Along with holding the position of Nexon CEO, Kwon is the chairman of the Korea Association of Game Industry. His keynote at Nordic Game 2007 will be titled, 'Asian Online Game Market and Nexon's Strategy'.

Nordic Game 2007 will take place between May 15 - 16 in Malmö, Sweden. For more information, visit the event website.
