New UK Games Production Company catches new wave of business models in games: Team Works Productions
Initial line-up to include new series of Party games for PlayStation® 2
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
London, UK - April 26 2007 - Team Works Productions today announced the formation of a new independent games Production Company based in central London. Named Team Works Productions, the company aims to offer a new strategy for video games.
Team Works Productions is a business-to-business computer games production company working in partnership with developers, licensors, publishers and distributors to create computer and video games for worldwide markets.
Commenting on the formation of the company, Terry Malham, Managing Director of Team Works Productions said,
"We are part of the new wave of video game production companies that have a new and nimble business model," said Malham. "But where others are solely focused on original or creative ideas, our prime focus raises the importance of commercial viability. Consequently we only green light games that not only entertain, but make strong commercial sense and provides all partners with a fair revenue share. Once in production, Team Works' role is to give the product a strong marketing head start and provide support throughout the product lifecycle."
Team Works Productions games are all thoroughly evaluated using market research, financial modelling and benchmarking before a game is green lit. A marketing road map is created and the key marketing assets generated by in-house experts, giving partners such as publishers, developers and licensors extra support and the confidence that the proposition is viable.
Team Works Productions is backed by a non-executive board of games industry veterans, design and marketing experts; Julian Lynn-Evans, Roger Walkden and Steve Bainbridge.
The company has begun development on a series of Party games, featuring a new character, Mr. Okatami (working title), and is currently seeking publishing and distribution partners. The first in the series is:
Mr. Okatami's Winning Post (working title): A Party game for PlayStation® 2 developed by Broadsword Interactive, in which up to 32 players can participate in a fun-packed pub-style night at the races that's full of twists. Scheduled for release in Q4 2007, it is the first in a series of games featuring Mr. Okatami.
