New Talent Agency for Game Developers signs Patrick O'Luanaigh and Justin Scharvona
Eidos' former Design Director and award winning Harry Potter and Battalion Wars game audio composer swell talent agency roster…
LONDON, WIMBLEDON, 29 March, 2007 - 1 Game Agent, the first talent agency in the world dedicated to working with individual game development talent announces the addition of 2 further talents to the roster that it represents. 1 Game Agent adopts a model similar to other creative industries such as film and music to promote the most talented individuals in games. It represents the current and future stars of the industry allowing these top creators to showcase their talent for more clients on more hit games without the hassle associated with taking time out to line up the next contract.
David Smith, Managing Director of 1 Game Agent commented " We have had substantial interest in this new agency model for games since we launched last November. The model works well in the film, TV and music industries and it looks as if it is taking off in video games. It works best with exceptional creative talent looking for project based work which is why I am so pleased to be working with Patrick and Justin. We continue to seek a roster of the games industry's finest talent so that we can the help them concentrate their time on the creative work they do best."
Patrick O'Luanaigh is one of Europe's leaders in identifying and bringing to market award winning video games. At the age of only 30 he was, most recently, both Creative Director and Design Director at Brit Publishers, Eidos Interactive and SCi Entertainment, overseeing hits like Tomb Raider Legend, Championship Manager, Conflict: Desert Storm, Hitman: Blood Money and Just Cause. He is the author of Game Design Complete, published by Paraglyph Press.
"Despite spending most of my time developing exciting new titles at nDreams, I am keen to keep involved with other companies in the games industry and to spend time each month working with developers or publishers who are looking for assistance," explained Patrick. "Having sat behind many hundreds of pitches over the years, I feel I can offer some real assistance and advice in this area. But I'm also happy to help analyse games, try and advise how to improve gameplay, or assist companies in generating new ideas."
Justin Scharvona is one of Europe's leading game audio composers and sound designers having worked on over 50 published games. Most recently he was responsible for the music and sound design from Nintendo's hit Battalion Wars and intro sound design for Eidos's Conflict: Global Terror. He was previously Audio Manager at Argonaut Games, the North London game developer. Having created audio on game titles, ranging from Croc to The Godfather, Justin won the 'Edge Audio Achievement Award 2000' for the Alien Resurrection soundtrack. He then went on to work on Aladdin and Emperor's New Groove for Disney and wrote music for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Playstation title, and was the Audio Lead for Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Justin commented "Like Jon Hare, I am a game industry veteran of 18 years, and I can definitely see the benefits to having great representation. I'm keen to work with David Smith as his business acumen allows me to completely focus on creativity, which is also good news for the companies I work with."
Patrick and Justin are available, through 1 Game Agent, for short and long term contracts from a few days to 18 months to work on award winning games in the UK, in Europe and overseas.
1 Game Agent offers the benefits of agency representation to experienced individual game development talent with success at the highest level. Those interested in working with David Smith should contact by email to david.smith@1gameagent.com
