New name for SNK NEOGEO USA

In a flurry of capital letters, SNK NEOGEO USA Consumer Corporation, the US publishing arm of SNK PLAYMORE Corporation, announced on Friday that it will be known as SNK PLAYMORE USA Corporation effectively immediately.

The move will "better facilitate worldwide recognition" of the brand, the company said, bringing the US division in line with its Japanese parent company, SNK PLAYMORE, which consolidated all its divisions under one brand in mid-November.

"The name may have changed, but the business model remains the same," said Ben Herman, president of what is now SNK PLAYMORE USA Corporation. "SNK is and always will be about bringing great games to the marketplace."

SNK PLAYMORE's output, including the King of Fighters and Metal Slug titles, is published by Ignition Entertainment in Europe.
