New Elder Scrolls, Mass Effect announced at VGAs

Forza 4, InSane, Prototype 2, SSX: Deadly Descent also on show

A handful of big titles have been revealed at the Spike Video Game Awards over the weekend, with EA and BioWare showing off Mass Effect 3 and Bethesda teasing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Both franchise sequels are due before the end of next year, with Mass Effect 3 confirmed as a simultaneous release on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC after being exclusive to Microsoft's consoles in the past.

Radical Entertainment revealed a trailer for Prototype 2, while Microsoft unveiled Forza 4, complete with Kinect support.

Electronic Arts also announced the return of the SSX extreme sports brand, with SSX: Deadly Descent, while Sony and Naughty Dog showed in-game footage of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception.

THQ also revealed details of its team-up with movie director Guillermo Del Torro - a new horror game, InSane, will be released in 2013. Resistance 3, from Insomniac, was also on show at the awards.
