Chinese browser MMOG to launch an English edition.
Oak Pacific Interactive (OPI), China’s largest developer and operator of browser-based games, is preparing to bring the hugely popular MMOPG Neverland Online to North America and Europe. One of the most successful online games in China, with 33.9 million registered users and daily traffic of 302,000, Neverland Online recently became available in English (open beta), opening its fantastical world of monsters, fairies and immortality to a whole new audience.
Escape to the world of Neverland Online and make your way through a mythical ancient Chinese setting where you will defeat the Demon Army and protect world peace as you work toward immortality.
Assume the role of Ranger, Assassin, Elementalist or Taoist to complete the quests. Have access to more than 200 million different pieces of equipment for variable game play. Encounter more than 1,000 unique species, including monsters, divine animals and fairies.Featuring vivid graphics and rich plot twists, Neverland Online offers players a unique gaming experience. The game will be available for free and can be played directly through a browser or by downloading the game client, which would provide a more complete user experience.
Neverland Online will join OPI’s growing family of English-language browser-based games on the online game portal www.HiThere.com.

Just months after its launch in June 2008, the Chinese-language version of Neverland Online received the prestigious China Joy Golden Plume Award for “Best Webgame” in 2008. In 2009, Neverland Online was honored with the “10-year Best Webgame” award by Sina.com.
