Neurok Optics iZ3D Monitor To Be Used At GGL V-Sports All-Star Tournament During E3
17" Unit Is First 3D Monitor Designed Specifically for Gamers
San Diego, CA -- May 2, 2006 -- Neurok
OpticsTM, LLC,
a designer, developer, and marketer of advanced 3D
visualization systems, has announced that its revolutionary
iZ3D 17" LCD monitor will be the exclusive monitor used in
the CounterStrike 5v5 play of the 2nd Annual V-Sports
All-Star Tournament. Hosted by the GGL (Global Gaming
League), the all-star competition honors the best of the best
in worldwide video gaming. The event will be held during the
E3 show, May 10-12 at the Los Angeles Convention
Center.
The advanced iZ3D video monitor is capable of displaying
impressive into and out-of-screen 3D images with passive
polarized glasses. Specifically designed to replace the
standard two-dimensional monitor, it offers commercial-grade
image quality and display brightness, while supporting
long-time viewing without causing fatigue or eyestrain. Its
advanced technology works with all popular applications, and
allows users to gather and use more information in a more
sophisticated way than standard 2D monitors permit.
iZ3D technology represents significant proprietary,
competitive, and technical advantages over other display
systems. Neurok Optics' engineers developed this unique
technology to create "wow"- inspiring 3D depth without
causing eyestrain or spatial disorientation, headache, or
nausea.
In 3D mode, viewers can see 3D images and videos wearing
passive glasses, eliminating the need for shutter glasses,
goggles, or helmets. Its 3D images are clear, bright, and
sharp, representing a breakthrough in polarization
management.
The unit is powered by any PC with a dual output video card.
Smart capabilities allow it to be used for regular 2D office
tasks as well as 3D viewing. Specifications include: 1280 x
1024 resolution; up to 140-degree viewing angle; 8 ms
response time; 400:1 contrast ratio; and 16.2-million
colors.
"I play using the iZ3D monitor regularly and I can tell you
it is the closest thing to being on the Holodeck," stated Ted
Owen, founder and chairman of GGL. "We are extremely excited
to have the iZ3D monitor for use in our All Star tournament.
3D gaming is no longer a far-off dream. This unit
demonstrates the unbelievable realism possible 3D viewing
presents to the gaming industry. I hope everyone attending E3
will take time to see it in action."
The GGL V-Sports All-Star Tournament features 22 of the best
competitive video gaming players on earth - as voted on by
gaming
aficionados from around the world - squaring off against one
another in a winner-take-all shootout. The three-day tourney
takes place in the NVIDIA booth (#346, South Hall) and at the
V-Sports All-Star Kickoff Party, sponsored by Ziff-Davis
Media, Intel and GGL at the Hotel Figueroa during E3 week.
Upwards of 120,000 game industry related people are expected
to attend.
The All Stars will be competing for $25,000 in cash and
prizes. Competition will be held in: Warcraft 3 1v1, Quake 4
1v1, and Counter-Strike 5v5. A VOD online broadcast will be
available for fans unable to attend in person.
