NetEase's Identity V downloaded over 100 million times
Asymmetrical multiplayer horror game's downloads doubled upon global release
NetEase's asymmetical multiplayer horror game Identity V has been downloaded over 100 million times since launch.
Pocketgamer.biz reports that the free-to-play game's initial launch in China saw 50 million downloads, a figure that doubled after the game launched worldwide on iOS last week. Identity V saw an Android launch just yesterday.
The game currently sees 10 million daily players and has spent the majority of its time since its Chinese launch as one of the top 10 adventure games on the country's App Store.
According to product manager Sylar Pan, Netease hopes to "do more global publishing" in the future. One avenue the company may pursue will be through its recent partnership with Bungie, which a company blog described as a means to "explore new directions" and to become a company that "sustains many worlds simultaneously."
