DIAMOND BAR, Calif. (August 8, 2005) ESPN and Netamin Corporation announced today the next tournament in Ultimate Baseball Online, the ESPN UBO Double-Up Tournament. The ESPN UBO Double-Up Tournament will be a 16 team double elimination tournament that starts Monday, August 15, 2005 and is open to all registered members of ESPN.com. Each member of the tournament's winning team will receive one pair of NikeT Sunglasses (approximate retail value $179). Registration opens Monday, August 8 at noon pacific and closes Thursday, August 11 at noon pacific.
Ultimate Baseball Online (UBO) is a unique online gaming experience that puts players in the shoes of a virtual baseball player. Each player views the game from their own perspective on the field and must communicate and cooperate with their teammates to succeed. Unlike most video games, UBO players are rewarded for their collective on-the-field performance.
