Namco is already working on tools to power its next-generation console games, according to Namco CT vice president Yoichi Haraguchi, with the company focusing on tools that will work across multiple titles.
"Namco is already developing tools for next generation hardware," he said in an interview with Japanese magazine Famitsu - although the company is wary of the danger of next-generation development sucking up vast resources compared to previous formats - something that we've been hearing from a lot of developers lately.
"If we can apply the tools that we've made to other titles, we'll be able to reduce the development costs associated with making a single game," he explained. "Thus, if we get the chance, we'd definitely like to cooperatively develop a game in this fashion in the future."
