Namco Networks launches Time Crisis Mobile
Arcade shooter targets US wireless gamers
Mobile games publisher and developer Namco Networks has announced the launch of Time Crisis Mobile, bringing the trigger-happy arcade favourite to an entirely new audience of wireless gamers across the US.
Originally a massive hit from Namco in the amusement arcades, Time Crisis appeared on Sony's PlayStation in 1997 and has since spawned a further three titles that, to date, have been confined to the home console platform.
Taking the same frantic action that made the original games so popular, Time Crisis Mobile challenges players to protect the world from terrorism as they dodge the persistent gunfire and take-out hordes of armed assailants in two separate gameplay modes.
The 3D wireless game promises an intense and frenetic single player experience both in Story Mode, and in the extra Crisis Mission Mode. A range of unlockable bonus missions and content has also been included, to add further value to the latest in the Time Crisis series.
Namco has designed two control methods to maximize the player's targeting precision, with 9-Div mode utilizing the handset number keys to fire at the corresponding area of the screen, while Semi-Auto mode offers a cross-hair to aim at specific targets.
Scott Rubin, Namco Networks' VP of sales and marketing, commented: "Namco Networks is dedicated to making sure our mobile games are faithful to the original console and arcade versions. We believe fans will agree that Time Crisis Mobile maintains the potent pace and excitement of the arcade original. The same thrilling action you got with the Time Crisis series at the arcade is now available on your phone and on the go."
The game is currently available through major US carriers, with distribution for additional operators, territories and compatible handsets to follow shortly.
