Namco Europe Web & Mobile Division Appoints i-mode Manager

Company Targeting Europe's Other Mobile Content Format

November 12th. Namco Europe's Web & Mobile Content (WMC) Division has today appointed Jessica Gwyther to the newly created position of i-mode manager for the European market.

Jessica has a great deal of experience in the mobile sector, coming to Namco from a business development role at mobile content aggregator Icon mSolutions. Prior to this she worked as an account manager with mobile messaging infrastructure specialist mBlox.

Jessica will be responsible for all business development on the mobile network operators and portals throughout Europe which offer content based on the i-mode system. Much of Namco's mobile gaming content to date has been compatible with the i-mode system and the company is planning to continue this support with content released in 2005.

John McKenzie, the head of Namco Europe's WMC division, said, "We are delighted to welcome Jessica on-board and are looking forward to strengthening an important aspect of Namco Web & Mobile Content's capabilities within the rapidly growing European mobile games market. 2004 has seen the mobile games sector establish itself as a viable and vibrant new area of the interactive entertainment sector. Namco has been an important to contributor to the industry since the very earliest days and has been successful in the home console market as well as with it's arcade titles. Namco WMC intends to be at the forefront of the mobile sector as it continues to grow and the i-mode market is an important component of this expansion."
