Namco America to Offer First Online Mobile Pool Game with Head-to-Head Game Play on Sprint

New Version of Pool Pro Online Includes Integrated Chat Feature

SAN JOSE, Calif. & CTIA Wireless (September 27, 2005) - Nice Shot! It's Your Turn. I'll Be Right Back. These are just some of the phrases fans of the original Pool Pro OnlineTM are using as they chat and rack with the new version of the mobile game. Namco America, a leading publisher of wireless games and content, today launched a new version of Pool Pro Online, which allows players to communicate with their competitors using a simulated chat function while enjoying the same online head-to-head play and rankings as the original Pool Pro Online. Pool Pro Online, with the chat functionality, is the first head-to-head, multiplayer pool game available on Sprint.

Namco's Pool Pro Online presents the option to compete head-to-head online, or offline in single player or multiplayer hot-seat modes. Pool Pro Online features 8- and 9-ball modes, three difficulty settings for offline play, and a zoom-in feature that allows players to judge tricky shots and hit with a precise aim. In the online mode, players compete in real-time against thousands of competitors across the country. Scores are published on five leader boards (Most Wins, Best Win-Loss Ratio, Best Rating, Best 8-ball Player and Best 9-ball Player), allowing players to strategically choose their next competitor.

"There are mobile gamers who are looking for a casual game that will let them challenge others head-to-head and in real-time. Pool Pro Online is just what they've been looking for," said Scott Rubin, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Namco America's wireless division. "The ability to search and play against friends and the chat functionality really enhances the connective aspect of the game, giving social casual gamers an opportunity to interact with others who enjoy Pool Pro Online."

The new chat functionality allows players to send messages to each other from a predefined list that changes depending on the player's game situation. For example, if it's your turn you could send the message, "This one looks easy" whereas your opponent could respond, "I own this table ;)." If you accidentally sink the 8 ball, the message list will include "I let you win."

"Chatting with your opponent while playing enhances the competitive nature of head-to-head gaming and reminds players that there is an actual person at the other end," said Jason Ford, General Manager of Games for Sprint. "We are excited to be the first to offer this new version. We expect an enthusiastic reaction from the growing base of Pool Pro Online fans."
