MyTown
Location-based iPhone game hits version 3.1.
Palo Alto, Calif. – May 6, 2010 – Booyah, developer and publisher of the largest location-based mobile app, MyTown, is proud to present MyTown 3.1, available now for free exclusively on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Since its launch in December 2009, MyTown continues to add more than 100,000 new users each week with its compelling blend of rewarding game design and real-world locations. The average MyTown player now spends more than an hour a day within the app. MyTown’s latest revisions provide its rapidly growing community with new social features including trend feeds on frequented check-ins and favorite locations.
Constantly pushing for innovation, Booyah’s latest update of MyTown allows users to earn collectibles and other exciting in-game rewards for checking in, purchasing and upgrading their favorite real-life locations. With 10 new levels, MyTown 3.1 is faster, smarter and more social than ever before. MyTown users can now scroll through the top trending properties, their most frequented check-ins and friends’ favorite check-in locations. Higher accuracy bonuses reward real estate moguls for checking-in based on proximity. MyTown friends will also be able to view Facebook profile pictures and timestamps on others’ check-ins.
MyTown recently executed two successful branded campaigns with prominent youth-oriented apparel retailer H&M and national cable network Travel Channel to bring players real-world rewards and in-game items based on GPS-check-ins to real-world locations.
MyTown uses GPS features to check-in at real-world locations to unlock rewards. Players can buy and upgrade shops, enjoying MyTown ownership of their favorite real-life places. Users can also collect rent when other people check-in to their shops. The more a place is frequented, the more it raises your shops' value and rent. In MyTown, players can also use power-ups to unlock more locations to buy.
