Mythic pledges commitment to games in wake of EA lay offs
Letter to community states services will continue as usual
Mythic Entertainment has posted an open letter to its community on its website saying that despite everything that's going on within Mythic and EA, the studio remains dedicated to its games and players.
The studio is widely thought to have been affected by EA's recently announced plans to cut 1500 people from its workforce, including 900 in development positions.
"With all that is going on within Mythic Entertainment and EA, I would like to take a moment to reinforce the studio's dedication to both our games and our players," wrote Jeff Hickman, executive producer at Mythic.
"At Mythic, we remain committed to our games and the passionate people who play them - we're going to continue to deliver the content and service that keeps you playing.
"We want to assure our community that we will maintain the same high level of customer support you've come to expect and continue to improve our games with an exciting schedule of patches, live events and new content."
Reports suggest that Black Box, Redwood Shores, Tiburon and Mythic have all been hit by the restructuring. Yesterday it was suggested that Pandemic, Maxis and the Command & Conquer team might also suffer team losses.
