Mutant Chronicles: Doomtrooper
Card-based strategy game coming to Paradox Connect.
STOCKHOLM – October 20, 2010 – Paradox Interactive today announced it has licensed the Mutant Chronicles: Doomtrooper brand from Paradox Entertainment Inc. Doomtrooper was a classic card-based strategy game from the popular Mutant Chronicles universe franchise and one of the most popular collectible card games of the last century with over 200 million cards sold worldwide.
“With the launch of our Paradox Connect initiative, an opportunity to create something great with the Mutant Chronicles: Doomtrooper brand has surfaced and we immediately sought to license it,” said Fredrik Wester, CEO of Paradox Interactive. “It’s exciting to join forces again with Paradox Entertainment to bring a wonderful franchise into the 21st century, online.”
“Mutant Chronicles has an incredible fan base that still continues to play games based on this dynamic universe, and Doomtrooper remains one of the favorites. We’re excited that a new generation of gamers now can experience the fun and excitement of the game,” said Fredrik Malmberg, President and CEO of Paradox Entertainment Inc.
Mutant Chronicles takes place in the distant future after the relentless exploitation of Earth by megacorporations has forced mankind to a mass exodus to nearby planets. The survivors, plagued by disease and viruses in the new hostile environments, face yet another threat - the Dark Legion. As you select and lead a squad of highly trained specialists across the solar system, your only goal is the eradication of your enemies and anyone who isn’t your ally.
Additional details on the game will be revealed in the coming months.
