MTV Networks continues to expand in the games market, with the announcement of a new partnership with Korean MMO specialist Nexon to market its titles in North America.

As well as promoting titles such as Maple Story, Audition and Kart Rider online and through its various television networks, Nexon may also create and develop MTV Network-branded items for use in-game.

In return, Nexon will provide marketing support for MTV Network's casual game Neopets in Asia, and create virtual items for purchase and use within the game.

"We are delighted to establish this mutually beneficial partnership with one of the world's leading creators of programming and content across all media platforms and the premier media partner in North America for Nexon's wide ranging target audience," said David Lee, CEO of Nexon Japan.

MTV Networks recently acquired Guitar Hero developer Harmonix for US $175 million (EUR 137 million).
