MS to allow Twitter, Facebook, Last.FM access to under 18s
360 update gives child account holders ability to use services
Microsoft has announced a new Xbox 360 update will enable users of XBL with a child account to access new services Facebook, Twitter and Last.FM, providing they obtain parental approval first.
Prior to the update, under 18s weren't able to use the social sites or music streaming service via the console.
According to a post on the Major Nelson blog, the update is available now for users in all countries except the US. The US will receive the update on December 15.
By using the auto log in options for each application, users won't be prompted for parental permission every time they launch the application.
"Thanks for your patience as we worked to develop the best solution to ensure that we are able to offer an age-appropriate environment for everyone on Xbox Live," reads the post.
