Movement
Fortnightly downloadable show hoping to unearth new European music talent.
July 3, 2008: Discover the best new music from across Europe exclusively through your PLAYSTATION®3 (PS3™) and PSP™ (PlayStation®Portable). Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) today announced the launch of international new music show “Movement” as a series of free downloadable episodes available this summer for PLAYSTATION®Network. The first episode is available to download from the PLAYSTATION® Network today.
Seeking out the most diverse sounds from across the continent, two music-obsessed hosts were sent to tour Europe in a camper-van, stopping off only for food, sleep and the best in European music. Meeting up with four bands from each major European city to film interview and performance clips for broadcast on PLAYSTATION Network, one band will eventually be chosen as the series’ best and have a professional music video made as part of their prize. From French heavy metal to British girlie-punk; from melodic German rock to Spanish electronica to Italian art-rock – “Movement” has something for everyone. So if you’re not planning on hitting the festival circuit this summer – let the greatest new bands in Europe come to you.
New content available for free download each fortnight will be centered on one of five major European cities (Paris, Milan, Munich, London and Barcelona), and there will be eight new video downloads to watch each week – with interviews, performances and footage of the “Movement” hosts on the road for download. PS3 and PSP owners can download the content through PLAYSTATION®Store on PLAYSTATION Network accessed via PS3 and PC.
"PlayStation® is committed to entertaining consumers in every possible way,” says Stephane Hareau, PSP Senior Brand Manager at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe. “With Movement we are giving an opportunity for cool emerging bands from across Europe to share their passion and music with millions of PlayStation fans. Movement will show viewers Europe’s hottest new talent exclusively through PlayStation."
So join Movement this summer and discover the coolest new European bands through PLAYSTATION Network from the comfort of your own home or on the movement with your PSP. Just be thankful you don’t have to experience the inside of the camper-van first hand…
